Gynaecomastia correction

Gynaecomastia or ‘man boobs’ is a condition in which male breasts swell in size giving their chest a feminine appearance. Gynaecomatia vary in size from a small amount of tissue just below the nipple to a complete female like chest. Simon’s grading Grade 1- mild enlargement with no skin excess Grade 2a - moderate enlargement without skin excess Grade 2 b - moderate enlargement with skin excess Grade 3 - marked enlargement with skin excess that looks like a female breast Causes of gynaecomastia are - Hormonal , Medicine or Substance abuse, Liver cirrhosis, Chronic renal failure , testicular tumours, adrenal tumours and some other cancers, primary hypogonadism etc. Treatment of Grade 1 gynaecomastia can be done under local anaesthesia with gland excision with or without Other grades require gland excision with liposuction usually under general anaesthesia Skin excess , if mild can be corrected by skin retraction following liposuction. Large skin excess is corrected surgically. Patients are advised to wear pressure garments for at least 6 weeks after surgery. The cost of surgery ranges from Rs 25000 to Rs 1 lac
